Session Recap - 1/10/14

It's been two weeks, so I'm probably forgetting some bits, feel free to leave a comment if I missed something big!

Session opening found our ragtag crew catching a bit of R&R, fixing the ship, getting their grounding after their last adventure. Min was approached by a frightened young girl - Fianna, unless I'm remembering incorrectly - begging for passage out of the system and saying she was running from her mother, an Imperial officer. Being the kindhearted person she is, Min immediately let the girl come aboard without asking permission.

Of course Ruby was none too pleased with this, but when it turned out that the girl was not only pregnant but also in possession of a treasure map that she was willing to exchange in return for safe passage, that changed matters a bit. By then the Imperials were sending out a radio wave to all nearby ships saying they were looking for a runaway, and the Helios Rain made a quick escape. They weren't as stealthy as they could be though, and an Imperial ship did follow.

As it turned out, Fianna had an escape shuttle left for her by the Rebel Alliance in the Kessel system, and she would hand over the map once they arrived there. There was some shipboard drama on the way over, including Hrrsk having a little chat with Fianna, and Ruby essentially grounding Min for bringing someone on board without permission. Etzio continued to spend mysteriously long amounts of time in his bunk.

The presence of a young runaway aboard the ship also brought out some feelings for the crew. Min seemed glad to have someone else her age around. Hrrsk could relate with his own mother issues. Ruby recalled the days of being a 19 year old runaway aboard a ship and how that totally turned out okay (haha). Ae also showed some surprisingly mother-esque tendencies, and Fianna managed to survive asking if Ae had kids of her own.

The coordinates Fianna gave led to one of the smaller asteroids of the Kessel system, one whose mine had been abandoned but still had a working atmosphere generator. The Helios Rain docked, disembarked, made their way to the shuttle and saw Fianna aboard before the Imperials who had been tailing them decided to show up. Cue the trademark epic fight sequence amidst airborne glitterstim spice and little atmosphere. Trance stood his ground and was very protective of Fianna, standing on his grounds of freedom for all. Badass moves were pulled by everyone, including strategic box placement courtesy of Min, Ae's own brand of whack-a-mole, and definitely-not-jedi-rock-climbing by Etzio. And the only one to get shot in the face was Fianna's mother, by a very ticked off Ruby.

Somewhere in the milieu the bay doors got opened, and Fianna's ship was shot out into space, giving her an escape. Sadly for our heroes the doors didn't close again, causing the atmosphere (along with a stormtrooper or two) to vent out into space. It was a daring move by Min that finally got them closed again. Another short firefight to get the last of the stormtroopers, and everyone made a quick dash back to the Helios Rain to avoid any backup that might be coming.

Session ended with them flying off into the metaphorical sunset with a new treasure map in their possession.
