As the crew of the Helios Rain drop out of hyperspace they are alarmed to find they've jumped right into a field of debris. Floating all around are hunks of destroyed and derelict craft: remnants of a war since past. While visually inspecting the debris our crew discovers that they are not the only ones in the area. There is an Imperial ship using the wreckage for target practice! Deciding that discretion is the better part of valor, Captain Altaïr orders the ship to run slow and quiet. They will try to drift among the wreckage unnoticed.
Alas, as good a plan as it was the Imperials happened to lock on to the very piece of debris behind which the Helios Rain was drifting, leaving them exposed and in plain sight. Having identified the ship the Imperials immediately gave chase. Their larger ship would be more difficult to maneuver among the wreckage which the crew was counting on, as it was gaining much faster than anyone was comfortable with. Trance was able to use the ion cannon to knock an asteroid out of the way, which Min noted also fried some circuity that may or may not have been necessary to operate the ship. Using her frustration to fuel her ingenuity, Min was able to boost the shields. The reaction of the ship to her machinations was so great that the discharge ruptured a nearby wreck, spilling mines out in the wake of the Helios Rain. Ezio saw this as a great benefit and ordered Harrsk to shoot at the mines which caused a spectacular chain reaction, giving the crew and ship time to escape. Ae spent the battle trying to help a very clearly intimidated Min in the engine bay, though the added reach and strength proved beneficial.
Upon reaching the planet the crew set off to find the treasure that the map promised to lead them to. Trance took the lead with the rest of the crew falling in behind. Harrsk was reluctant to relinquish the role of lead but had to fall back in order to better protect the squishy meat-bag to which he had pledged his life debt. Ruins surrounded the crew; everywhere a reminder of a great civilization fallen from glory after the Clone Wars. The vegetation was rapidly encroaching on everything the Mandalorians had worked to build. This decay became clear when the street swallowed up half the crew in a collapse. They were deposited safely in the sewer where there appeared to be a shrine of sorts. However, before much more exploration could take place the crew that remained topside had the ground shot out from under them by a very large, very illegal disruptor rifle. On her forced trip to the sewer Captain Ruby spun around to see the smirking, half android face of Wylia Rak standing next to a Gand with a terribly large rifle. A horrific sight for more than one reason.
Before the dust could settle after the blast the crew was once again on the run. Trance lobbed a thermal detonator towards the hole in an effort to cover their tracks and also make a very large explosion - satisfying a primal need to set things ablaze. The blast seemed to serve its purpose as the crew was able to safely make it to the chamber which held the map's treasure.
Upon entering the crew was presented with an old medical bay which had inexplicably withstood the test of time. Machines hummed and buzzed with life and light. Harrsk voiced his disapproval at the very clear lack of any treasure of any kind just before seeing a humanoid shape shrouded in the armor typical of Mandalorian warriors. After determining that the person in the armor was long since dead it was discovered that the figure was leaning on what appeared to be a tube containing a torpedo. Ezio noticed with his "keen senses" that they were not alone in the room. He approached the figure with caution and after a brief exchange it was revealed that the torpedo was a bio weapon capable of extinguishing all life on a given planet in less than an hour.
Just as our crew began to debate what to do with the torpedo and the Mandalorian girl Ae opened fire down the hallway. What ensued was a battle for the ages! A grenade was thrown by the dastardly duo of the Gand and Rak which sent Ae and Harrsk sprawling back into the room. This caused the pair to begin to laugh at the pitiful attempt to harm them. Harssk stood up and unleashed automatic weapons fire towards the nefarious pair while slowing walking towards them. Trance and Ezio provided small weapons fire while Min hacked into the medical systems, using a precision operating laser to cut the Gand's distruptor rifle in half. Having had quite enough of Ms. Rak and this whole situation Ae charged the woman and clobbered her with the butt of her gun and knocked her cybernetics clean off. Seizing on this weakness Ruby fired one well placed shot into the cavity exposed by Ae, thus ending Wylia Rak once again. The Gand, seeing he was outgunned, retreated to cover and proposed a deal. Captain Altaïr immediately rejects the offer and Harrsk agrees: the Gand cannot live. Wrestling with the moral quandary of killing a man who is bartering for his life, Ezio closes his eyes and squeezes the trigger on his disruptor pistol. The Gand slowly disintegrates leaving Ezio to ponder his decision.
After the battle the crew has a talk with the Mandalorian girl, who was never named by her family, and convinces her to let them dispose of the torpedo by throwing it into The Maw. The girl is not entirely convinced of the crew's motive and requests that not only do they bring her along, but that Trance hand over one of his thermal detonators as collateral. Trance reluctantly agrees and the second the girl receives the detonator she arms the dead man switch stating that the crew will perish with her and the torpedo if they are not true to their word. The crew asserts that they have no intention of keeping the torpedo and make haste to dispose of it, making sure to grab the Gand's ship for salvage on their way out.
Once on the ship Ezio retreats to his bunk to have a conversation with the Holocron that he secreted away weeks before. He is very clearly distraught about not only killing the Gand but the idea that he is a Force sensitive. The Holocron offers no solace outside of promising that the path to the Light is tread by those who are brave beyond measure. At this Ezio's mood turns even more sour and we fade out on him closing the Holocron.
